Privacy Notice

1. Who We Are

Unique Scholars Athletic Fuel (“Athletic Fuel,” “we,” “us”) is a pillar program of The Unique Scholars Institute (“USI”). We provide structured sports-performance training and athlete nutrition education for boys and girls ages 8–24.

2. Authentication & Identity

We do not collect or store passwords. All authentication is brokered through the USI Hub:

• Access-code sign-in — families paste their USI Personal Access Code. The code is validated by the Hub; the raw code is never persisted on this site.
• Email / password fallback — credentials are sent securely to the Hub for verification. This site receives only a session token.
• No independent registration — new families register at theuniquescholars.institute. This site is not the source of account creation.

3. Information We Collect

Beyond what the Hub already governs, this site may collect:

• Profile information: Age group, sport, activity level, training preferences — entered during enrollment.
• Progress data: Daily nutrition logs, hydration tracking, workout minutes, wellness metrics, assessment results.
• Session analytics: Page views, training-session check-ins, and engagement events synced back to the Hub.

4. How We Use Information

• Generate personalized training plans, nutrition guidance, and assessments.
• Track progress and produce reports for athletes, parents, and instructors.
• Sync engagement analytics to the USI Hub for unified reporting.
• Improve the educational content and platform experience.

5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & FERPA)

We take the privacy of minors seriously:

• Under 13: In compliance with COPPA, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Minors ages 8–12 participate only through a parent/guardian-mediated account on the USI Hub.
• Student records (FERPA): Where Athletic Fuel operates in conjunction with a school or district, student education records are handled in accordance with FERPA. We do not disclose personally identifiable information from education records without consent.
• No independent data collection of minors’ PII: This site collects no PII from minors beyond what the USI Hub already governs. Authentication is brokered by USI; we store no passwords.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data:

• With the USI Hub: Analytics events and session data are synced to the central Hub for unified dashboards.
• With parents/guardians: Progress data for linked minor athletes.
• With instructors/coaches: Performance data for guided training.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, or to protect rights and safety.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption, secure servers, and role-based access controls — to protect information. The API key authenticating this site with the Hub is stored server-side only and is never exposed in client code.

8. Your Rights

• Access, correct, or request deletion of your data.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Opt out of non-essential communications.
• Withdraw consent at any time.

9. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies (session authentication). Engagement analytics are synced to the USI Hub — not to third-party ad networks. No targeted advertising is served.
